University of Targu Mures Medical Campus Hamburg Admission & Entry Requirements

​

To gain admission here, it's necessary to possess at least B grades in Biology and Chemistry within your high-school diploma. Subsequently, you're required to participate in a 20-minute motivation-oriented interview, either online or on-site. This is followed by a 90-minute knowledge assessment comprising multiple-choice questions in Biology, Chemistry, and general knowledge, all assessed with equal weight. Your results will be provided within a maximum of 48 hours.

Accreditation and Curriculum:

UMCH offers an international degree in medicine upon successful completion of the program. The curriculum encompasses both preclinical and clinical study sections, covering various medical subjects and practical experiences.

Student Housing

UMCH students can benefit from comfortable and well-equipped student apartments situated in a modern building complex in Hamburg-Wandsbek. This complex comprises 328 fully furnished studio apartments, each equipped with a private bathroom and a small kitchen. Additionally, there are communal areas where you can spend leisure time playing foosball or enjoying refreshments at the bar or lounge.

Near the UMCH campus, you'll find a spacious recreational facility affiliated with the Aktive Freizeit e. V. (VAF) association. UMCH students enjoy special privileges at this facility, including waived registration fees and a 10% discount on membership and course fees. The facility features amenities such as a swimming pool, wellness area, gymnasiums, a spinning room, and a fitness center.

The university's admission assessment is divided into two sections: written and oral.

Written Section:

The entire assessment takes place online through Zoom. Throughout the course of your studies, examinations consist of multiple-choice tests and practical assessments during and at the conclusion of each module. Towards the end of your studies, you'll be required to write a thesis, akin to a master's thesis, and complete a final evaluation (test) covering topics from the last four years (all clinical subjects).

Preclinical Study Period (Years 1 and 2)

The initial two years of study are referred to as the preclinical phase, consisting of lectures and seminars designed to prepare you for the clinical segment. During this phase, you'll gain an understanding of the biochemical, biophysical, molecular, and cell-biological foundations of medicine.

Upon completing the foundational aspects of medicine, your studies will progress to encompass the anatomical and physiological structures of the human body.

Clinical Study Period (Years 3 to 6)

This phase primarily focuses on diverse human diseases. You'll acquire theoretical knowledge in clinical medicine and engage in clinical internships within UMCH-affiliated teaching hospitals. These experiences provide insights into direct patient care and offer exploration of various medical specialties.

Key subjects include pathology, immunology, pharmacology, neurology, ophthalmology, otorhinolaryngology, gynecology, urology, and pneumology.
