Charles University Admission & Entry Requirements

For the October intake, the application deadline is April 30th.

​

To qualify for admission, you must have successfully completed your secondary education and possess a school-leaving certificate. As part of the admission process, you will be required to participate in an oral interview conducted in English. This interview aims to assess your motivation for pursuing studies in the field of medicine or dentistry. Additionally, you will be expected to undertake an entrance examination administered in English. This examination will encompass topics in general Chemistry, Biology, and Physics.

In the evaluation process, all applicants are assigned rankings using a 330-point scale. Within this scale, candidates can accumulate up to 100 points for each component of the written exam, totaling a maximum of 300 points. Furthermore, the interview contributes up to 30 points to the overall assessment. To achieve successful admission, a minimum score of 244 out of 330 points is required.

Premedical Programmes

The university presents a comprehensive 5-month premedical course designed to equip you for the entrance examinations and facilitate your transition into the first year of medicine or dentistry. This program focuses on three fundamental subjects: biology, chemistry, and physics.

Term Dates

​

The academic year at Charles University follows a two-semester structure, encompassing both winter and summer periods. The academic year commences on October 1st and concludes on December 23rd. Notably, there are Christmas vacations observed from December 23rd to January 3rd.

​

Subsequently, the second semester commences on February 15th and concludes on July 1st. Summer vacations come to an end on September 30th.

​
